I am majoring in psychology, and am currently a pre-psych major and a junior transfer student. I'm fascinated by psychology and passionate about learning what "makes us tick" as humans. Specifically, I would like to focus on various coping skills for anxiety, depression, and other disorders and phobias. If there is further headway within the realm of legal treatment involving psilocybin, I would like to have some involvement in that with the preparation and post/integration aspects of the process. It seems a bit taboo at this point, and I don't want to be discredited as a professional clinical psychologist, so am including this for our class but will probably not lead with this in the future! Although I am passionate about it and using alternative methods instead of just prescription pills.
While at UCLA I've attended and completed a training course and am now a certified Mental Health First Responder. I am also ordained and able to officiate wedding ceremonies. I hope to use what I learn in my schooling to better understand couples and help make their special days unique and meaningful to them.
